Rang 1 had great fun working as scientists this week. We made a pumpkin volcano by combining water, baking soda, vinegar, food colouring and washing up liquid inside a pumpkin. This resulted in a pumpkin eruption! We learned that the “lava” formed when the acid (the vinegar) and the baking soda (the base) react together to form carbon dioxide. We loved demonstrating our experiment to 2nd class too!
