Rang 4 explained Oobleck and its properties to Rang 3 as part of our shared learning for Science Week. In return Rang 3 explained about Static Electricity to Rang 4 with balloons and Dancing figures.
When you rub a balloon on something like wool, hair, or a jumper, you are causing friction.
Friction makes electrons move from one surface to another:
• If electrons move onto the balloon, the balloon becomes negatively charged.
• The material you rubbed it on loses electrons and becomes positively charged.
This means the balloon is now full of negative charges that want to stick to positive or neutral things.
